We loved working with NIV, an emerging fashion brand based in New York City, to photograph imagery for their ready-to-wear lookbook.

The shoot took place at a studio in Chelsea, where we created a simple series of photographs focused on the collection's color, texture, and form.

The designer's artistry, honed in India, brought a distinctive point of view to the collection and a sense of refined simplicity that we were naturally drawn to.

It was a pleasure collaborating with NIV and bringing the collection to life through photography.

If glasses are part of how you normally look, there's no reason to take them off for a portrait.

In fact, the right frames can add character, shape, and personality to a photograph—especially when they're something you wear every day.

We're drawn to straightforward portraits—someone looking into the camera, simply and directly.

But we're equally interested in what happens in between.

A shift in expression. A glance away. A laugh after the photograph you thought you were making. The small, unplanned moments that happen when someone briefly stops thinking about the camera.

We like making room for both.

The more direct images can have a simplicity and presence to them, while the in-between moments often reveal something less expected. Together, they can create a fuller and more interesting portrait of a person.

Sometimes the photograph you weren't quite looking for becomes the one you remember.

At Natural Studio, we love natural light.

Some of our favorite portraits and headshots have been created simply by working with the light that's already there. But natural light isn't always predictable—or even available. Especially in New York City, the weather, time of day, location, and surrounding buildings can completely change the light from one moment to the next.

That's why we've spent years learning how to create and control light ourselves.

Using professional studio lighting, we can recreate many of the qualities we love about natural light—the softness of a window, the warmth of sunlight, and the subtle way light falls across a face.

Whether we're photographing someone in our Brooklyn studio, an office, a home, or another location, we don't have to depend on finding the perfect natural light. We can shape the light to work for the person and the environment.

For us, it doesn't really matter whether the light is natural or created. What matters is how it looks and feels in the photograph.

Knowing how to shape and control light allows us to create great light, and great photographs, almost anywhere.
